About Twin Cities 20s, 30s, & Birdies
This is a casual group for people in their 20s and 30s around the Twin Cities who want to get outside, find some cool birds, and hang out with other bird nerds. Whether you're a photographer, look through binoculars, or just like to listen and watch, everyone is welcome here!
What to expect:
- Bird Walks: Getting out to local parks, lakes, and sanctuaries to see what's flying (or perched).
- Socializing: Hitting up a local brewery or coffee shop after we wrap up to hang out, talk about our outings, share photos, and help each other with bird identification.
I want to bring to life a frequent, but low-key community of young adults who want to make new friends and share their love of birds.
Ethics disclaimer: Most importantly, we need to respect nature, our parks, and the birds we see. There will be a zero-tolerance policy for unethical birding practices, i.e., playing bird calls, whistling, throwing objects, getting too close, and sharing the exact locations of rare bird sightings. In addition to that, "leave no trace" is very important for group gatherings, lets leave places cleaner than when we got there and just be good people! :)
